8-4.1. BIAS TIRE, WHEEL, AND RUBBER RUNFLAT MAINTENANCE (Cont'd).WARNING.Never install bias tire on twelve bolt wheel. Damage to equipmentmay result causing injury to personnel.NOTEBefore installing tire on inner rim half, inspect tire sidewalls for a"paint dot". Paint dots are often painted on tires to indicate thetire's light spot, for balancing purposes. If paint dot is present,position tire on rim halves so that paint dot is aligned with inserthole on outer rim half.14.Center runflat (7) and runflat spacer (6) in tire (1). Carefully lower tire (1) over inner rimhalf (9). Check to ensure O-ring seal (8) has not been disturbed.15.Ensure runflat (7) and runflat spacer (8) are not binding on flat portion of inner rim half (9). Runflat (7) and runflat spacer (8) should clear inner rim half (9).16.Install valve core (3) in valve stem (4).17.Install outer rim half (5) on inner rim half (9).CAUTIONTighten locknuts gradually to avoid bent and broken studs, ordamage to wheel components may result.18.Secure outer rim half (5) to inner rim half (9) with eight locknuts (2).TM 9-2320-280-20-28-14.10Change 2
